The Nutritionist behind Food Freedom

I’m a fellow Hashimoto’s Thriver but it wasn’t always that way. A few years ago Hashimoto’s was kicking me in the butt. 

Over the past few years I used myself as a test subject to research and trial the best methods for battling the symptoms of Hashimoto’s (like fatigue & weight gain) and address the driving forces behind my autoimmune disease and I accidentally got myself into remission along the way.



I’ve created a method using my Nutritional Medicine qualifications and my experience of Hashimoto’s & Hypothyroidism to help other women. Now I'm here to share what I've learnt with you. because it is my belief that all women deserve to THRIVE and feel fabulous inside & out.

I’m time poor, will this become another thing to add to my plate?

Transformation takes self commitment so you will need to set aside some time each week to go through the videos to really get the most out of Food Freedom for Hashimoto's. If you give yourself an hour a week for a month and 15 minutes on the weekends to meal plan that should be ample. In terms of cooking, once you get used to the new way of looking at food & meals you’ll find that you save a lot of time preparing food for you & the family.

How is the program structured?

Food Freedom for Hashimoto's is a digital self paced online program. It is compromised of a Hashimoto's modules with three videos and 13 additional steps. Each lesson has a video with an average length of 11 minutes. Most lessons also have downloadable PDF handouts that accompany the information in the videos. 

How do I know if this program is right/safe for me?

The program is based on whole foods, there are no supplements or extreme eating or dieting practices making it suitable for all adults. If you are breastfeeding or pregnant then you may need to modify your meal timing and frequency. If you have a health condition which affects your ability to eat certain foods then you might want to discuss whether a Meditteranean style diet is suitable for you with your health practitioner. The Thriving Thyroid meal planning system is very flexible so you can omit foods you are unable to eat.

What makes your method different from other programs I’ve seen?

Food Freedom for Hashimoto's is a unique program created by a qualified Nutritionist. Can you guarantee I’ll lose weight?

No I can’t. The extent of your success rests with you. I provide you with everything you need to succeed but you have to do the work.

I don't have Hashimoto's but I want to lose weight, will this work for me?

Yes, we could all use a little bit of help with our glycemic control and gut health. Not to mention a system to freshen up our approach to dinnertime. If anything you'll find it easier to shift weight than your Hashimoto's peers as you won't have the same thyroid and metabolic obstacles.

What are the recipes like?

How will this program help me?

There are Modern Australian, Meditteranean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Scandinavian, French, Mexican, Indian & Thai inspired dishes that range from the time it takes to cook a piece of toast to a five hour chicken bone broth soup but the average is 26 minutes and 36 seconds. I counted. As a busy mum I have shared many recipes I make for myself and my family. All the recipes are gluten, dairy and soy free.

Great question! Food Freedom will give you the tools to transition to a whole foods approach to food. Following the Thriving Thyroid meal planner & recipes will regulate your blood sugar, increase your energy, lower inflammation, reduce cravings, provide nutrients your thyroid and immune system need to function well and may even help to improve you thyroid function or reduce antibodies. It may also improve your skin, hormones, mood, sleep and much more. It will most certainly reconnect you with the delicious flavours of nature & help you create filling and delicious meals that make you feel great.

Are the meals time consuming, expensive or complicated to prepare?

Actually no, most meals take 10-30 minutes to prepare & require simple & fresh ingredients. There are two or three speciality ingredients in some recipes such as collagen powder but I offer alternatives in the shopping guide and recipe notes. The beauty of the system is that you can make meals as complicated or as simple a you like. Most of my clients claim to spend less time cooking than usual & find this approach to food liberating & easy. 

I'm a vegan/vegetarian

While the recipes and meal plans are omnivorous there is a vegetarian food list so you can use the thriving thyroid meal planning system to create vegetarian meal and weekly plans. I don't recommend the vegan diet for Hashimoto's however so this wouldn't be suitable for vegans.
